About The Project

A regional multi-generational opportunity for careers, employment and community prosperity

Delivering for Central BC

With a projected operating mine life of nearly three decades, the Baptiste Nickel Project is poised to be a long-term economic driver for the region. FPX anticipates that local communities, including First Nation communities, will benefit from substantial and lasting opportunities provided by the construction and operation of the Project. Engagement with local communities has identified that maximizing meaningful local employment at the Project is a priority and that readiness for this opportunity should be supported from the very beginning stages of Project development today.

Nationally Significant

Baptiste has the potential to increase Canada’s production of nickel by 40% and strengthen our sovereignty.

Baptiste will generate $15.5 billion in direct, indirect and induced federal, provincial and municipal taxes of the life of the mine, ensuring a strong local tax base and government services.

With the downturn in the forestry industry, British Columbia’s critical mineral potential provides a new opportunity for workers and communities.
