Nickel Done Right

Baptiste Nickel Project

About the project

Low-Carbon Nickel.
Made in Canada.

Baptiste is a proposed critical mineral project located in central British Columbia. This high-margin, long-life, and low-carbon mine has the potential to become a foundational component of Canada’s supply chains for clean technology and renewable energy. It will supply these sectors, as well as the traditional stainless-steel industry, with nickel produced to some of the highest sustainability standards globally. In doing so, it has the potential to provide a lasting legacy for First Nations and local communities, while promoting responsible economic development across central BC.

The Project is being advanced by FPX Nickel Corp, a Vancouver-based junior mining company and is the first and most advanced awaruite nickel deposit in the world.

The Opportunity

The Baptiste Nickel Project represents a multi-generational opportunity for First Nations and B.C. to play a significant role in leading a responsible transition to a low-carbon economy.

Nickel, a critical mineral, is required for stainless steel and for batteries in electric vehicles.

We all work together

A Dakelh phrase often expressed to FPX Nickel in community meetings, which we consider to be a guiding principle for respect and collaboration, is Alhgoh ‘uts’ut’en, meaning “we all work together”.

Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles
are at the core of our Company’s operations.

In 2024 we released our first Sustainability Report, highlighting sustainability initiatives FPX Nickel has implemented to date, and commitments made going forward.

Advancing Reconciliation

FPX is committed to upholding the principles of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (the “UN Declaration”) and specifically to the concept of Free, Prior and Informed Consent. This commitment is affirmed in our Company policies, specifically in our Indigenous Peoples Policy and more fully articulated in our 2024 Sustainability Report, both available on the FPX website.
